Posted 03/07/2003This was the first tractor I've ever bought - it was purchased to help develop and maintain 12 acres for our new homestead. I bought this a part of a package - trailer, PHD, FEL, BB, BH - total amount was about $14,000. The tractor had 33 hrs on it when purchased, but I received full 3yr. warranty on the machine.
I now have almost 100 hrs on the Kubota and am totally satisfied with it - not one hiccup since purchased. I do all my own maintenance, but the 3 yr. warranty is still a nice thing to have if major repairs are ever needed.
I did not care about HST (flat property) so the manual shifting is fine. It did take a bit of getting used to a fair amount of shifting when doing a lot of back and forth dirtwork, but that's OK with me. The Kubota FEL (dealer installed) has worked flawlessly.
The tractor came with ag tires (rears are filled) and they have been a good choice - perhaps later an industrial tread may be more appropriate for graded areas. Seating is good, but seat travel is limited. The direct fuel injection is a plus and has been very dependable, especially on cold starts. The engine seems to only sip fuel too (3 cylinder diesel). Gauges are adequate, but I may install an oil pressure gauge (vs light) at a future time.
All in all, a terrific value.
