Posted 04/26/2004Unlike Rat (L3830HST review), I had never experienced a bigger tractor, so I was not disappointed by the L3130's power. It's big enough to qualify as a "real tractor," and it has done everything I've asked of it so far.
I have acres of steep hills to mow with a 6' rotary cutter, and the 3130 handles it well. The LA723 loader has performed well too, though I have only used it for dumping/backblading gravel, turning manure piles and pushing dead trees off trails. I can't comment on the unit's digging ability yet, though I would imagine that's where I might want more power someday.
All in all, I feel the 3130 gives me the most versatility and usefulness I could get for the price. The LA723 FEL, Landpride 72" box scraper and 6' Bushhog SQ720 are all well matched with this unit. The Kubota fit and finish are better than some of the brands I looked at. And the extras like the tilt steering wheel, electronic dash panel and cupholder are icing on the cake.
