Posted 08/31/2004I sold my '52 Ford 8N in order to buy this compact tractor for about even money. This tractor has Kubota quality all over it. It not only looks great is runs great too. I was not sure its 15 hp PTO could handle my 5' KingKutter finishing cutter but it does as well as the 8N did and cuts going up a steep incline as easily as it does going down hill. I found that it needed about 100 lbs. front mounted counter-weight to hold the front end down so I could steer. It is called the L-185 here in the USA so I have no problem getting parts at the local Kubota dealers. All the manuals (parts, service, operator) are available from internet sources too, which I advise getting. I can cut more acres on less fuel now too with off-road diesel rather than gasoline which costs more. The rice tires on the back are just right for cutting my steep fields without the need for 4WD. I use a Sears garden tractor on the lawn around the house.
Date Purchased: 4/2004
Purchased: Used
Price Paid: US$3200
Pros: Runs great, starts everytime, diesel power cuts easily
Cons: Needed counterweights on front end due to 5' finish cutter.
