Posted 12/03/2004This is my early review as I have only had it for about 1 month. I have put about 15 hrs on the machine with no problems at all. This is my first tractor so I can not compare its power, handling and any other statiscal figure to any other brand. This being said, I can say that it is cabable of way more than I imagined.
I have a 6' box blade, 6 foot rotary cutter, and a 6' rear blade, along with the tractor and kl130 loader. I have not used the rear blade yet.
First impressions. 1. Machine seems a lot bigger on my property than at dealership. I was considering buying large originally and I am glad I didn't. I am really amazed at how much these things can do. 2. Although there are 3 ranges on the HST< 3rd is rarely used for anything but traveling while doing nothing (no filled loader). 3. I really like the layout of all of the controls. Everything is very easy to. 4. It is very tall with the ROPS up.
Those were my initial impressions after using it the first weekend I had it. Through some further use, I have found that I really dislike the way the ROPS folds down at the base and not the midway point like most of the other brands. This is nothing major but it is, in my opinion, not as nice as the ones that fold at halfway point. The gas gauge is really jumpy and dependant on tasks. A few times I thought I was almost empty on fuel (and wondering how I could be empty so soon) and stopped what I was doing to drive to barn to fill only, only to find while driving straight and not using PTO or loader that fuel gauge would slowly move up.
All in all considering the price I paid compared to what I would have paid for something similar in the "big 3", I could not be any happier. I will try to give updates as I get more use on the machine.
