Posted 12/18/2005I live in a remote area. Dealers are from 100 to 200 miles away. Basically bought L3400, Bh75 Backhoe and LA463 FEL without being able to try it. I depended on reviews like this for some guidence. Have had a Mdl 641, 34 hp Ford tractor for about 20 years. It was more than satisfactory for all my small farming needs. I wanted to be able to replace it and add the need for backhoe and front loader, still using all my implements (i.e. springtooth, 72" rotary mower, posthole auger, etc. The test projects I had conjured up to try when I brought the L3400 (e.g. dig large deep pit for disposal of old concrete slab, clean horse stalls, etc.) All performed much better than expectations. Had a friend who uses large backhoes, loaders regurally try it, he was very impressed and complementary toward the digging force smoothness of operations, etc. It was 13deg F when I started it yesterday. It started instantly. Snowing today, so will use it to clear some snow. Having bought it at some risk of the unknown, I couldn't be more pleased with the decision. Teasingly, I say that the coffe cup holder was just a little small. If that's the worst flaw, I can live with it.
