Posted 06/05/2006Purchased with Kubota B7610 tractor in May of 2006. Price shown ($15750) is the quoted package price for Tractor, FEL, 60" MMM and ballast box....FEL cost was not broken out.
I'm very happy with MOST aspects of this loader; but there is one glaring deficiency. It is vertically challenged; it just doesn't lift very high. Height to pivot pin at max lift height is 69.7" (1770mm), which surprised me. I overlooked this, though it is printed plainly in the Kubota B-series brochure. When servicing a high burn pile or loading a truck or wagon, this could be a drawback. As it is the loader seems well suited to loading a Gator type utility vehicle. Loading a pickup truck, especially a tall 4WD could be tricky.
The annoying thing about this is that the BX2350 LA243 loader lifts higher (71.3 inches) even though the BX is nearly 4" closer to the ground than the B7610. It seems a longer stroke boom cylinder could've been chosen for the LA352.
The loaders used on the other small-frame B7x10 series tractors suffer from the same drawback. Max. lift is less than 70" for all of them. The larger B7800/B2630/B3030 machines use loaders that lift over a foot higher than those used on the B7x10 series.
Other aspects of the loader are fine. It's strong, smooth, sturdy and easy to remove/attach. Operation has been faultless so far. If it lifted 6" or 8" higher it would rate 5 stars.
Still, I like the loader/tractor combination a lot. Even with its limitations, it'll still do at least 95% of what I had planned for it. Just goes to show; you can't spend too much time reviewing the specs. before buying.
