Posted 01/24/2002I recently purchase a 4WD Kioti DK45 compact tractor with FEL to replace two older tractors. To date I have 31 hours on the tractor and have been very impressed. I purchase this tractor because it was the best value for the money in its class.
The tractor is powered by a four-cylinder diesel putting out 45hp (38 hp at the PTO). It has a synchronized shuttle transmission with 8 forward and 8 reverse gears. The three-point hitch is of a category I type with a lifting capacity of 2314 lbs. The hydraulics includes one pump running at 8.24 GPM and the second pump running at 4.94 GPM.. The tractor also included remote hydraulics and a trailer electrical outlet in the back. This tractor weighs 3792 lbs with AG tires but without the FEL
The FEL is US made and has a 107.5" maximum lift height. It has a lift capacity at full height of 2050 lbs and a break out force of 3500lbs. The entire loader except for the mounting is quick detached from the tractor and requires no loading stands.
I've used this tractor to clean out horse runs, graded my 1/4-mile driveway as well as clearing it of snow using a 74” pto driven snow blower. I have also harrowed 20 acres with it. Once fully broken in It will also be used do some plowing, brush cutting and log chipping.
So far I'm pleased with the Kioti. It is very user friendly. Lots of room for big feet and boots, easy to get on and off, the steering wheel is adjustable and the seat is comfortable. Controls are also convenient. Its well built and has handled everything I have used it for. I have not pushed it to its maximum capacity as I am still in the break in period.
The only maintenance done to date is an oil change. I was able to find an filter for this tractor at my local NAPA auto parts store. Kioti parts and service is available from a Kioti dealer located about 40 miles from my place.
Date Purchased: 11/2001
Purchased: New
Price Paid: US$19800
Pros: Well built, all the options I wanted came standard with the tractor, good value
Cons: Only one dealer in my area
