Tractor Attachment Reviews / 2000 Allied 2572FDR Select
Review by Boondox from Stowe, Vermont
Posted 06/04/2002

I bought this rear discharge mower with the tractor (L3010) and have used it to mow my 7 acre meadow. I set it to cut fairly high to avoid stones, roots, etc and it does a fine job. I use a lower cut on the one acre or so that could justifiably be called a lawn, and it does a phenomenal job on that portion. Absolutely no clumping! I've never managed to bog down the tractor when mowing, even in wet grass. The only indication of mowing too fast for conditions is a ragged strip where the blades overlap, but this only happens when I mow wet, long sections.

It's a heavy unit, and with so much weight out back it can really effect your balance, so when transporting it uphill I just let it roll on its own wheels.

My only complaint is the valve stems are recessed so far back on the rims that they're difficult to reach. I got around this by retrofitting them with the angled stems. Nice unit!
