Afternoon wlbrown,
On my MF 1040 theres a fine mesh filter inserted into the top of the fuel tank, that does collect some small debris after time. The only problem with it is that you have to fuel slowly or it will run over ! The tractor also has the site bowl and an inline spin on filter. I generally get two 55 gallon drums filled and then transfer to a 2 1/2 gal can to fill the tank. Very seldom do I burn more than 2 or 3 gallons at one time.

BTW I just have a simple crank pump for transfer.
