I built this one for my pickup using 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" rectangular steel. I bought the steel for under $150. I
cut vees and bent the angles, Welded it all up and painted it. I hauled a 40' extension ladder (20' collapsed) many times by securing it with bungee cords to the rack and a couple to the front bumper. It slides in the pockets and attaches with a bolt in each corner.
