Yeah, I guess that the ground needs to be just right to be able to trench with a blade. I'm lucky I guess, I have only a few roots and or rocks that I ever have to deal with. Although while working on a new drive I ruined my rear blade.

But that is what happens when you use equipment that is not matched properly, as I have done more than once.
