The tooth holders (shanks) I have seen for industrial hoes were forged out
of weldable steel. The way they look, they could pass for cast. I bought
3 of those for about $15 ea back in the mid 90s when I made the bucket for
my CADDigger. The teeth to fit them were $5 or $6, and were designed to
crimp on. I welded them on. My dealer used to have bins of all sorts of
teeth and shanks.....kinda like a candy store.
