I guess yours was to easy to replace that's why they changed it on the bx24.
I believe your shaft can be removed but the bx24 is to long HMMM kinda makes you think.I luv the bx24 as this is the only problem i've had.I remove stumps and rocks If i cant get them out of the hole I bury them deeper.Works for me and saves the blades on the mower.no shortage of rocks in VT.Guess i will go make a skid plate.
