You might have to put oil back into the tractor to get the filter off....I know that I have to start my 6000 and let it get to operating temp before I can get the oil filter off of it.. I learned this trick from a guy that had to warm up his Ford F250 diesel in order to get his filter off as well....let us know how you fare.....without pics, its hard to visualize your filter situation.
