Why are you changing out the fuel filter? Book shows to change at 250 hr. And if your fuel consumption is the same as mine 1 gal for 2 hrs, you will have only filtered 25 gal of fuel. My Jetta still has the factory installed filter at 170000 mi.. I will have to change it some day! Unless you are having problem with dirty fuel it can go a long time. The 50hr is the "break in" A diesel motor can take couple thousand hrs to fully seat the rings.
