In Jul06 I bought a 1964 MF-135 diesel with Multipower for $3600 (no FEL). It had sheet metal damage, but the engine runs OK. Has a few oil leaks now that I need to fix.
The average trade-in value (what a dealer would give) of that 150G runs from $1300 (1964 model) to $1900 (1974 model). The average resale value (what a dealer gets on resale) ranges from $2600 to $4000. |
The Continental gasser is a FOUR cylinder engine. Perkins gasser is three. The Continental is 145 cu in, the Perkins is 153, and shares many parts with the diesel.
Parts for EITHER engine are cheap (relative to most other engines) easy to get, and they're BOTH very simple engines to maintain.
Neither hold an advantage over the other. Both EXTREMELY good engines as far as power output, longevity, ease of maint/operation.
150 gassers generally sell in the same ballpark as a diesel, SLIGHT advantage to the diesel. Around here, you'd expect to pay $3800 to $4500 for an average to slightly better than average 150 gasser. Parts for the tractor itself are a breeze to get ahold of. Massey Ferguson "HERITAGE PARTS" carry a complete line for that tractor. Lots of aftermarket stuff too. MOST of the tractor is essentially the same as a 135. There's so many of them still on the job, parts vendors bend over backwards to accomodate anyone needing help.
