You did not mention it but did you change the filter and you could also clean up inside the air handler. Is it belt driven or direct drive? might have a problem there. Does the air flow seem like it was before?

I have an old system (electric heat) that I am thinking about replacing with a heat pump system. I am amazed at the prices but I think a lot of them have gone out of business so less competition.
