It's simply a method of determining if the problem is in the fuel delivery system or not. If it fires up after spraying (but not before), it pretty well means the engine's NOT getting any fuel through the normal system. |
I concur. It's like giving a gas engine a shot of ether. Ether is not such a good idea with a diesel due to glow plugs, but WD-40 is just a really low quality oil (sorta like diesel) so you're just getting some fuel into the cylinders to see if it will run.
