Default Re: Toothbar or No Toothbar?

I have a small JD2305tlb and I thought long about adding a toothbar, since I like the finished look after backdragging I was reluctant and didn't think I could get the result I wanted with the toothbar on.Then I began a road/trail project that involved digging shale with large rocks embedded. The toothbar has proven its worth and is very helpful in breaking up the shale as it approaches from below and can sometimes get under a slab where the backhoe cannot. It makes my small machine more effective and is easier on me and my tractor. I have since learned to smooth using the heel of the bucket, takes a little practice. I keep the toothbar on all the time now. Hope this helps. Mark
