What difference does it make if the gov't gives GM billions to stay afloat or gives Ford billions so Ford can build a government subsidized "green" car nobody will buy except die hard tree huggers?
It's still gov't money taken from taxpayers that, as you said, have no say where the money goes.
I'd rather see the money go toward keeping GM open for business, giving Americans a choice of cars to buy and saving American jobs than giving to Ford to build a 2 cylinder hybrid that looks like a motorcycle with a bubble around it.
