Default Re: GC2300 quit running and won't start

Moving back east from CA with my old Blazer back in 1976, I picked up a mess of water in Winnemucca, NV... that plagued me all the way to Nebraska when the truck finally died on I-80. Temp was mid-90s; truck & U-Haul trailer, me, my wife, a new baby (howling, of course), and a cat, half way between Lincoln & Omaha, dead on the side of the road.

I had drained water out of the tank, replaced my add-on inline filter and added drygas 3 times already.... Was tearing apart the carb one more time when I finally remembered the sintered-bronze filter at the fuel inlet. Yep, plugged solid. No way could I blow through it to clear it.

Then tore apart the suitcase-sized glove box looking for an old bronze filter saved from a previous tune-up --you never know, right?-- There it was, in a bag with a used distributor cap and a set of points! Put it in, good to go. Lesson learned.

Haven't yet, fortunately, had to deal with water in diesel! (Don't want to!)
