A well cared for compact tractor should run 5000 hours with normal care and a little repair occasionally. I often tell people that 5000 hours on a tractor is like 200,000 miles on a good car. Some will go further, but you might be getting on "borrowed time" at that point.

Remember, and this applies to all brands, if a person has a problem with a tractor, they will often go to google and try to learn something. TBN is huge, and will likely come up on the first search page. Then the guy comes here and announces his problem. Now if he never had a problem, he may have not even found TBN. So you can get more complainers per capita on the internet. Even so, this is a great place to ask questions and to learn about all brands, but don't let a couple of incidents worry you. Just let them inform you!
You make a really good point about complaints show up here but no one searches net to seek a place to ask why their machine doesn't break down. So here goes a good news post; I have a Super C Farmall and it doesn't break down much. I think it's about 60 yrs old but I don't know how many hours is on it. It's old, runs on gas and I like driving it and using my one implement, a sickle bar. The engine was redone once. However, I like my Mahindra best. I guess it's because I have a radio on it.
