How to fix new engine on Gravely L model

I choose a L model with reduction gears . For GOOD SPEED as L8 in low range (May be a little bit sloower) For GOOD BALANCE. I am very happy with this new tractor. The REDUCTION GEARS is A MUST For my adapter. Pic no. 1 How first step: We need crankcase and the input- Sun-gear shaft from the Gravely crankshaft. We must adapt a CL-100 x 11\16 Flex joint for fit on the taper input shaft-sun-Gear. a 86$ machine shop work for me. Pic no. 2 I add two oil galeries on half trans crankcase Pic no 3. Nice work oldmech. By the picture it looks like you lubing the input shaft off splash from the trans?

js5020 You are right! Satelites gears splash oil. I put 6 quarts of UDT oil. Next step Motor side One steel plate 13.5 x 7.5 in.x .25 in. thick. I make this one with Press drill Grinder and the most with hand files. many hours but fit very well pic 4. There are four 1.5 x 1.5X.5 in. steel spacers between the plate and the Gravely half crankcase one .375in hole in center with two 1.5 x6 in. x 3/16in plates for renforcement all is bolting by four bolts at engine flange. on motor shaft we fit one oil seal More on pic5 . Does your single cylinder diesel engine vibrate much more than the old motor?

What is the reliability of these chinese diesels?

always nice to see a Gravely get a fresh engine.

Hi ! For vibration At idle a little bit more. at medium speed about as the old Gravely.
For reliability I think the true Yanmar L100V are a lot better . Chinesse dek diesel is just good product. hardware is as the price low. Now I recommand the TRUE YANMAR engine. My first choice was GX 390 Honda. Price is here 1.3 K . I find a $580 dek-Diesel engine. I take a chance no parts no garanty. Now I know! DIESEL ENGINE is a GOOD CHOICE 2-3 X less fuel. L100V Yanmar is 1.9 K here. Diesel engine pay himself .Thanks Oldmech
