i just bought a 201 tiller when you engage the tines the are rotating the wrong direction it makes the tiller launch forward instead of actually digging. Was wondering what the problem could be any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey rl,

They should rotate in the direction of travel. Your ground is too hard. Wait until a couple days after a nice soaking rain. The 201 is a good machine, but is more of a cultivator than a ground breaking machine. You need to get into the 700 800 or 900 series for a true groundbreaker.

If it is anything like my Troybilt, to break hard ground, you have to keep going over and over it, digging a little more each time using the depth adjuster...

Once you have it broken up, typically two passes and the tiller will go as deep as it is going to go...
