I have some confusion about what type of transmission oil to use in my BCS 853.

I bought some Autozone 80w-90 GL5 Gear Oil, but after some research saw that I should be using a gear oil safe for yellow metals.

Does anyone know if what I bought is safe or have a recommendation of something I could buy locally or online?

Hi Josiahgarber :)

Based on the viscosity and API rating of the oil you have bought, it should be right.

Among a lot of useful information on the BCS PowerSafe clutch, Maxxjod have provided us with a list of transmission oils that he recommends in this thread:

Although your Autozone oil is not on his list, it has the all-important GL-5 rating, which the Agip Rotra MP 80W/90 that BCS recommends, also has:
