If any of you are like me, then you enjoy finding out how much you can get out of your equipment. When I am running production machining jobs I enjoy finding ways to make the CNC mills run at the absolute maximum possible potential. On a large CNC mill it does no harm to the machine to run them that hard. (My last big CNC mill had over 8000 hrs of spindle time on it with no breakdowns!)
So when I was going to build a truck I wanted a commercial / industrial engine that should hold up to the same amount of "fun". That's the reason I did not go with a 'car' diesel.
Only time will tell if my selection was right. But so far the "fun" factor has been off the charts. Every morning I am just as excited to drive the truck as the first day I drove it. By far it has been the funnest project I have ever done. |
