The pros and cons. I have a couple of them located and seem like a simple design that requires low HP. They also have net wrap. They are an open throat fixed chamber. I have only operated a belt variable chamber baler.

I have the m&w 4500 it has been a good bailer, I have also ran hesom belt and new holland belt. the belt balers are faster and make a better looking bale. I was constantly changing belt splices. i did it once a year. the m&w is 10 yrs old and only thing to go wrong had been the chain broke and that was because i didn't keep the rear sprockets tightened up. only problem i have is not being able to vary size of bales. If i was buying again i would look at vemeer.
