I have been offered a Welger AP51 conventional baler for $NZ750.
I currently use a McCormick / International B47 and it runs fine.
I could very easily sell the B47 for $750, so effectively I have the chance to swap my B47 for the Welger.

What can anyone tell me about the Welger ?

I've heard they are the Rolls Royce of balers, indestructible etc.

Any advice, any opinions, all welcome.

Thank you

Didn't buy the AP51 because I couldn't find out about them. Continued to have problems with my B47s and so picked up a pair of Welger AP71s last week for $NZ2500 (about $US2000).
They're huge and built like German aircraft carriers.

shane one piece of advice re new welger knotter frame fitment, if you ever fit one, the top cap has to be broken off with cold chisel, so it uses the fracture as a dowel effect, helping a man where someone used a thin cutting wheel, and totally stuffed it up, be careful to line cap up correctly are the ap71 s going ok peter

Hi Peter, if you're ever up this way, I'd like to pay you to look over my two Welger balers please.
