I have an old Oliver ground drive spreader that someone gave me. It worked perfectly until one of the tires blew out the sidewall. While I'm waiting to get new tires I'm going to restore it to origional condition. I think it's a model 17 ( the ID plate reads: Oliver Superior manure spreader Serial number 17-1355). But here's the brain dump part. I took off the front board because it was bad and I'm going to build a new one. But I can't remember which way the "notch plate" goes. The one the levers notch in to. Two notches on the left ,multi-notches on the right or the other way? Also is it possible to get a manual for this spreader? You guys are always a great help and I'm someone can help here. Thanks much.

You are correct. Two notches on the left (toward serial plate) the multi notches on the right.

Thank you Mike! That saves me a lot of grief. I'll post a picture of this thing when it's finished.
