I just purchased a 2 row John Deere 71 flex and have been looking it over this weekend. Only after messing with it for some time did I realize that the fiberglass from the seed hoppers were coming off on my arms and clothing when I rubbed up against it. ITCHING !!!!. I was thinking about spraying them with some sort of shellac or something. Any suggestions from those of you that mess with these things all the time? thanks

Easiest thing is to use a fiberglass epoxy with a hardener that they use for fiberglass matting on auto body repair. The fiberglass will absorb some of it and it becomes tough as nails. Just make sure to keep it from any moving parts.

Those hoppers have spent some time in the sun..
