Boy my B8200 and neighbor saved the day today! With all of the warm weather that we had last week I lost alot of ice on the skating rink. I got my Zamboni stuck when it fell thru the ice on the rink today, it held the Kubota with no problems. I guess 6800lbs. is a little more than the Kubota with wide turf tires. Anyway my neighbor got on the Kubota and I on the Zamboni, and we were able to pull it back onto hard ground. I guess I need a few more nights of 5-10 degrees to freeze it solid. Its about 38 now and is going up to 40 tomorrow so it may be awile. Its been one weird winter, you need a scorecard to see whats going to happen next! Now to clean off the mud and make sure there is no damage to the Zamboni.

By the sounds that was to close for comfort. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

How deep is your skating rink?

Just about month from now it seems a couple of ice fishermen lose there auto thru the ice each year around these parts.

Von, it's time you put in a refrigeration system under that ice /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif That'll be a good justification for a backhoe and countless other tractor toys.

We play on a city rink with a marginal reefer system. I've missed a couple of weeks due to a "child avoidance procedure", but I guess it was pretty soft last week. We rarely have ice past the first week of March, even with refrigeration.

Good to hear you got out OK /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thomas,
The rink is only a foot deep, but the auger that feeds the snow to the dump tank bottomed out on the ice. I was lucky that only the rear tires went thru, I was able to lift it up some using the conditioner. (the thing on the back) Its 40 out right now, but is supposed to be only 10 on wensday. The kids played hockey most of the day, with dad getting in alittle ice time too! They have off from school this week so it would be nice if they have something to do. I hope it gets real cold in the next few days.

I got it for free! I was at the right place at the right time. I was talking to a new friend about my rink and stated that all I need now is a Zamboni. He states he has one parked in his back yard that has been there for 3 years and that he would love to get rid of it! He has the right to come and get it if he needs a back-up for the real rink that he runs. This arrangement has worked out great. He knows I have given it a good home and if he is in a bind he has a back-up. (See the attachment for photo) It was made in 1967 and is #822.

Incredible--it looks great! Have a new rink here in town, and was talking to the guys working there (I coach 4-5-6 year olds). Said they are $50k new for the standard model. Would have to guess you got a 5 figure gift!!

Those pictures are the closest look I've ever gotten at one of those contraptions; only seen brief glimpses of one a time or two on TV. Sure glad I don't have any use for one./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
