Although my father has been considering a new NH TN75 he came across an Agco Allis 5680 with around 2000 hours that he thought was a good deal.

Does anyone know much about these air-cooled tractors or have any opinions on them?

I have an Agco Allis 5660 with air cooled and I love it . It might be a little more noisy than a liquid cooled but you don't have to worry about changing anti freeze in winter . It starts right up without a heater even at 0 degrees.

Hey Hysyde,
I read somewhere that these air-cooled Deutz engines used the same motor oil for all theengine, trans, and hydraulics. This was supposedly a big selling point.
Seems like this is a bad idea.
What have you heard ?

The farm next to us has a 6260 Deutz Allis that they use on a fairly large cattle/hay operation. They've had it about 14 years and haven't had any engine problems with it and it is used ALOT. Not sure but I'm guessing this is a 55-65 hp tractor, runs a large round baler mostly (because of the cab), bushhhog, rake, FEl on front with a bale spear, and is used in the winter to feed a bale front and back.

The engine uses regular 15-40 motor oil for diesels. The transmission and the hydraulics use regular hytran fluid like most other tractors.

SAME uses OWN air cooled engines, not a Deutz!!!
Transmission and hydraulic has own oil, and engine has separated oil.
AGCO 5680 is rebadged SAME Explorer
BTW; I have his smaller brother at home /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Nice looking tractor. Looks a lot like my agco-allis 5660 but with a cab and different color. I have an alo 310 loader on mine also.

Your 5660 is equal tractor to mine, just with some differences:
- plastic removable hood
- turbo added for 70hp
- stronger rear end (bigger bolts pattern, like on 80 hp models)
- 24F 12R tranny
- 40 km/h (25mph) top speed
- 540/750/1000 shiftable PTO
- front and rear brakes
- front and rear differential lock
- wide metric tires

Cab is aftermarket, factory mounted.

I don't have loader, as 95% of tractors are without them here.
