They don't understand our market and seem unwilling to learn. They never quite liked warranty (it is an American thing) and never grasp the time factor when units were down. Every bit of fustration by customers was double for the dealers.

There is a long list of factors that led to this point.

Are there any updates on Farmtrac's status? Has Tim C. heard anything? I am still in the pipeline for 3 years worth of rebate money, I hope that I am not out $3,000 +.

I would like to tell you everything will work out on it. I can't do that. I would turn it over to a lawyer or state AG office. You could have a better claim do to the fact it is a financial transaction of questionable quality.

More news in the next few days. Feb. 1 should be an interesting day in Farmtrac land.

I talked to a dealer yesterday that got a fax last week from Unifarm saying they would have parts available for Farmtrac tractors.

This is interesting. There is a 2 page article in the April issue of Diesel World about Farmtrac. It sure sounded like Farmtrac planned to be around for a while. Here's the last paragraph from the article.

"The small and mid-sized tractor market is big and growing - and Farmtrac aims to have a sizable chunk of it. It's kinda cool that it can do that with a tractor whose lineage goes back to 1939 in the lineup. That tractor set the pattern for the modern small tractor and the Farmtrac still carries the torch."

The dealers are taking a big hit with this mess. Textron is contacting dealers and being heavy handed and say the "No Come Due" terms that Farmtrac had offered dealers are null and void and dealers are responsible for curtailments and interest that Farmtrac is in arrears on to Textron.

This is not good business to keep dealers in the dark and be heavy handed with the people that will sell their products. It is going to be a challenge for Farmtrac to keep their dealer network after Farmtrac & Textron have treated their dealers in this way. Textron is refusing to take the tractors back. Textron says Farmtrac is responsible for the dealer contracts. It sure looks like the attorneys will make money on this deal. Look for this mess to end up in Federal Court. This mess did not happen overnight and likely will not be cleaned up overnight.

What is a mystery to many is the products are high quality and properly positioned to succeed in the USA market. Customers that own Farmtrac tractors have not lost anything unless they sell at a depressed value due to the current uncertainty of Farmtrac. The products are too good to walk away from and support will be available after the dust settles. Keep using you Farmtrac products and you will be fine. You will lose value if you try and trade now.
