Default Deutz-Allis 5220

I am looking at a Deutz-Allis tractor model #5220 , It's 26HP, front end loader, backhoe, and brushog, 4WD, Ag tires 800 hours, the backhoe is a APRS 70. he is asking $13,000.
Is this a good price?
I know nothing about Deutz-Allis tractors so fill me in as much as you can.
What years were they made?

Age no older than 1985 as I have an 1984 5020 which I purchased new. I would really think about how much and how hard you are going to use the loader and hoe on this unit, they are what I consider "early" in the compact tractor history, and hadnt really evolved into the machines marketed today, while the 5020 has been a very good machine (yes I still have it) there are several shortfalls in the design of that period for tlb duty in my opinion, an aluminum bellhousing, not the heaviest front axle (atleast for loader work), and most lacked power steer. If the loader and the backhoe are not Full frame designs I would walk away if the machine is gonna see alot of tlb work.

How can I tell if the loader and backhoe are Full Frame?

I know the backhoe is hooked to the 3-point hitch.

The factory loader frame for the 5020 ran from the front of the machine hooked in the middle and also attached to the rear axle. But check the bellhousing to see if it was still aluminum on the 5220 as they may have changed it? My dealer told me not to put a half frame loader on the 5020 due to the aluminum bellhousing.

The 5220 does not have an aluminum bell it is iron and is well suited for loader work. I own a 5230 which is the same tractor besides engine specs.(5220=26hp and 5230=31hp). I also have an ARPS backhoe that is a three point hitch hook up and it has given me years of trouble free service. Parts availability is still OK through AGCO but some parts are no longer available. The price is a bit high for an older machine. For the right deal they are solid tractors. I got mine with a front mount 60" two stage Schulte snow blower, I may be selling mine soon to buy a larger machine. It has been a very reliable machine.
