- Farmtrac 360 DTC
OK, I originally had this in someone else's post, but decided it would be better to be in its own. I have done some digging in the forum, but couldn't locate an answer to most of these issues.
I've got a Long Agribusiness 360 DTC (now called Farmtrac ?) made by LG with a 5140 FEL that started losing hydraulic fluid through a leaking hose recently. While using it this weekend, it began spraying out with every move of the bucket - time to get it fixed. Found the culprit, tightened the fittings, stopped the leak and need to service the hydraulics. Now comes the problem.
I assumed the hydraulics could be serviced under the tunnel between my legs, but when I pulled the cover, it looked like it was just access to the top of the tranny. Standard bolt-on housing cover. No dipstick, no filler plug.
Looked several places and did not see an obvious fill spot, but found what appears to be a sight glass on the rear axle housing (no visible fluid) so decided to park it and ask on here. Next problem. The tractor will start, but as soon as I release the key to the run position, it sounds like a fuel solenoid clicking and the engine shuts down. It will start and run in the start position every time, but as soon as the key is released it shuts down. (For a compact tractor, they ain't light to push by hand into the barn!!!) Now, the only electrical that I messed with at the same time was pulling and checking all the fuses since my lights don't work either.
So, my questions since I don't even have a poor quality shop manual referred to in another thread:
1. Is there a low-hydraulic sensor that will keep the engine from running if the fluid is too low?
2. Is my assumption correct that the tranny, axles, and hydraulics are all operated/lubricated from the same common reservoir - ie, the case?
3. Where might I find the location to service the hydraulics?
4. And (maybe the dumbest question), what hydraulic fluid to service with? Found a reference in another post that metioned "tractor hydraulic oil" and the name brand, "AGCO Permatran 831XL transmission and hydraulic oil." Is this or other comparable oil correct?
5. Guess I should add one more - if no dipstick, how do I know when it is full? The sight glass?
Thanks for the help.
