Flail Mower 6 ft Mott flail mower on an AC 5020?

23 hp. Not worried about tall grass, the idea is to keep it short with as few passes as possible. I can't find how much these weigh, I've found 6 ft flail mowers spec'd from 500# to over 1000#. I know I could do 500#, I just built a 450# driveway grader for it, picks it up no problem.

I have a model 72 mott (6') I have used for years on my 3414 IH with 38 HP. I am going to try it on my new 27 HP 2740 Montana as soon as I get new knives on it. I hooked it up to the Montana and it picked it up alright, but it was heavy. My guess would be about 850-900 lbs.

I bought the old Mott today. It's no where near 850#, I can pick up one end. Hooked it up and cut some grass, works awesome. Needs 4 new bearings, both on the cutter shaft and both on the ground roller. But it cut well even with those bearings gone. Just had to watch the rpm's and find the sweet spot to keep the vibration down.

Tall grass (1') would bog the 23 hp AC 5020 down if I went too fast, so I just ran a lower gear.

I'm curios, where do you get 23 hp rating at on the 5020? My manual states it is 26 engine and 21 pto. just fyi
