I am wanting to buy a tiller, but not sure if I really need one. I have about a three acre yard with some rough spots and some terrace rows I want to smooth out. My yard used to be a cotton field then a pasture. The first hill I have started working on runs the length of my yard. I have run the box blade with scarifiers down and used the subsoiler to break it up. It is in very large chunks because we are so dry. I could borrow a disk or buy a tiller. Witch would work better? Thanks, JC

either will work
tiller is probably better

get a chain harrow to smooth it back out.

It's bone dry here every year. I use my ranch truck with over-inflated tires to smash the clods. Works great. Tires with chains would work even better.

I decided to borrow the disk instead of buying the tiller. I need to make sure I will use the tiller enough to fork out money on it. JC
