Received my new Kingkutter box blade Friday. Its a cute little 48 inch model, four scarifiers, weighs 350. Bought it from local Fleet Farm, they special ordered it and we agreed to wait to have it shipped with their regular monthly shipment, which took two months to get it right. But its here, and seems to be a good match for the 4100 with Turfs. Man, do they need painting training! They could charge 50% more if they were willing to actually prime and give a rich coat of paint, and pick a better color too. Oh well, I can't argue for $270. I have a 340 lb weight to bolt on it now, and its ready for loader-ballast duty and dirt moving.

Jim,
So far, I've been real happy with my KK implements, but I've got to agree with you about their paint jobs. Poorly done and ugly (we used to call that color "baby s###" yellow). Picked up a gallon each of J.D. green and yellow and plan on blastin' them and paintin' them as soon as the weather squares around.

As someone commented in another thread, it seems that KK has a general disdain for detail. I found that my KK dirt scoop actually worked as it should once I loosened the bolt holding the release mechanism so that it could turn as it was apparently designed to. Now I can just pull the rope and dump it from the seat, the way it's supposed to work.

The paint isn't good on this either..

OTOH, it looks rugged and it was cheap! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I saw a new KK bush hog at a Big Blue store last year that looked like it was 10 years old. It was one of the blue ones (some are yellow and some are blue) and the paint was peeling off and it was rusted on over 50% of it. I have 2 KK implements with decent paint jobs though, so sometimes they can do OK. It is an ugly color though! One of these days I'm giong to buy some blue paint and repaint both of them.

My new 60" KK tiller came with free rust! It was on sale, so I didn't complain. On the other hand, the same store has a rear bucket that's seen lots of weather and the manager agreed to 10% off on it due to the rust. Rust can be good!/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

I picked up my KK 5' rotary last week, and the paint was good, and all the parts wired to the mower. I'm waiting till we move in 5 weeks to unload it and assemble it. I had no problems with the last KK mower, hope this one is the same way. I got one of the yellow ones.
