Brands and Places to Buy

My BX24 should be arriving in about half an hour, , and eventually I'll start looking to get some attachments and things for it. I may eventually wind up getting things like a cement mixer, a tiller, a box blade, and maybe a few other things over the next couple of years. But, I really don't know what brands are good and what brands aren't. I don't want to assume that if something's expensive it's good, and if it's inexpensive, it's bad. Are the products that Northern Tool sells good? What about things from the Tractor Supply chain? Bush Hog? Can anyone offer some good names and some bad names for attachments?

From personal experience, I have a King Kutter 5ft rear blade I got from TSC and it works fine for me. I've only used ti for snow removal though. I also have a woods 48" box blade. I believe that it is the estate series, so it is a little lighter weight and made for the SCUTS, and haven't had any problems with it either. I would watch the local papers looking for estate sales and equipment auctions and try to pick stuff up used. The only new implement that I bought was the back blade and that was an "it's going to snow and I need a way to clear my driveway purchase"...

One other thing that I just thought of. I believe that when buying equipment, you have to look at how hard you are going to be using it. If you're only going to be using something a few times a year, I can't bring myself to spend money for the top of the line equipment. However if it's something that is going to be used regularly, I would spend the extra money.

I also have had good luck with KK mowers as well as howse mowers. In general the SCUT aren't as brutal on implements as their CUT /UT/AG counterparts. That is not to say that you can't easilly pretzleize a light duty implement.. or break a heavy duty implement if you are not carefull.

The bulk of my implements are KK.. caryall... dirt scoop.. boom pole.. etc. No problems with any of them..

Thanks for the feedback, all. It'd be nice if King Kutter and Howse are alright brands, since I can easily browse and buy from Northern Tool.
