Where to buy Cat 1 Hyd. Top Link?

Where can I find a Category 1 Hydraulic Top Link for my NH TC33D. I want one strong enough for using with my 6 foot rear blade.

I second this request. But, in my case it applies to the JD 4710. I don't see hydraulic top link as an optional accessory on the JD configurator. Can JD dealers add this as an add on after tractor delivery?

There are commercially produced units, or you can "roll your own" if you have access to welding equipment. For my TC29D, I bought it ready made from Gearmore (available on west coast only). For my TC40D, I'm making my own. Bought a 2.5" x 8" Prince cylinder from <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.princedirect.com/pages/universal.html>http://www.princedirect.com/pages/universal.html</A>, and the ends from the local tractor parts store. The hydraulic remotes were purchased from NH (The factory setup is really clean and nice). Haven't welded it together yet, but I'll post some pictures when I get done.

Yes. I had my JD dealer install one on my 4700 when I bought it. Just ask them. You may find that buying & installing your own may be cheaper.

Thanks for the links guys. Both of these sites seem to have cylinders with 10" of travel. I was told earlier that 8" would be what I need on my TC33D. I guess I should go out and take some measurements of my stock toplink.

The longer stroke won't matter as much as the closed length eye to eye. For some applications the toplink's overall closed length has to be reduced even further. See what your OEM toplink measures extended and compressed.

I've have the Tisco hydraulic toplink. It's a welded cylinder with a 2" bore and a 1 1/8" shaft. 3/4" pin holes.
20" closed with 8" stroke. Fully extended it is actually shorter than the extended length of my original factory toplink. On my tractor with the rear blade adjusted so it straight up and level the toplink is extended out to 24" Gives a 4" range of movement both forward and back.

If I remember right, the retracted length of my TC33's toplink is about 17-18" & the extended lenght is about 24 - 25". As already stated, the retracted length is the important one... if it extends longer than the standard toplink, that may only help in some future situation.../w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Ok, I went out and measured my factory toplink. I don't know if you are supposed to measure total length or from the center of one pin hole to the center of the other.

Fully retracted 20 ½” in total length
Fully retracted 17 ¾” center to center on pin holes
Fully extended 26 ¼” in total length
Fully extended 23 ¾” center to center on pin holes
Safely extended 24 ¾” in total length
Safely extended 22 ¼” center to center on pin holes
Total travel 5 ¾”
Total safe travel 4 ½” to 5”

Both the Chief cylinders listed at Bailynet are 21 1/2" fully retracted.

The cylinder listed at Green Manufacturing is 20 1/2" fully retracted.

Are they measuring the total length of the toplinks or from the center of the pin holes to the center of the pin holes?

Both manufacturers have 1" pin diameter and my pins are 3/4". I am assuming there is a bushing made for this, right?
