I was helping my 82 year old neighbor take down a dead tree on our property line a couple of weeks ago. While I was on his side of the fence I noticed some old iron in the fencerow. It was an old (Ford?) 3PTH 2 section drag harrow. I have lived here for 17 years and this was only about 200 feet behind my house. I had never see it before. A couple of days later I went back and had another look. The next time I saw my neighbor I asked him about and he said if I wanted it I could have it. I took him up on his offer and brought it home. It was in pretty bad shape. Bent, broken and previously repaired. Here are some before and after pics. I have it in good working order now. It took about $10 worth of hardware to fix it up and several hours of work on July 4. The main drawbar was bent and twisted. I got that straightend out first and proceeded to fix everything else that needed it. I probably have more hours involved in getting it in working order than hours I will ever use it but, it was fun to do and now I have a perfectly sized implement to use with my B3030.

Sweet find. I have a three section Ford harrow I pull behind my Ford 2N. I had to fix the upright for the three point top link. It bent while in the raised position doing nothing. I wasnt even on the tractor. I fixed that and made it quick hitch accessable while I was at it. Watch out for the tines when your using it sometimes they break and spring(shoot) off.

Great score :D! Use it well. I got my Woods Landscape Rake for essentially the same investment- labor invested on my part, but free for the taking. Jay

Nice ol' spring tooth, now get a piece of the tree to hold it down and you're all set.

Coupla years back my BIL built the house of his dreams, turned out to be a very impressive looking nightmare. Sold it for a good buck though and bought an older 80 acre farm. First thing he did was clean up around the yard, getting rid of the junk that the last owner had collected. I got the 100gal oil tank and pump, most of the rest went to the dump. He then found a scrap man who would collect the old machinery from the back field. Now my BIL is roaming the country trying to find a used hay rake, mower, manure spreader, etc....

Great find..

That unit looks almost exactly like the one that was left on our ranch when we purchased it. I just had a quick look at it before stashing it in the back corner of the arena, a project for a leter date i thought. My particualr unit is in more need of TLC as it has rusted out a bit more. Had to dig it out of the tall grass n weeds in front of the old barn.

I noticed that mine must have been jerryrigged in some fashion as it does not have the 3PT hitchup deal on it, juts a series of bars w/chains connecting it all together. I also noticed that the unit I have consist of 8 sections of that style of harrows. Its huge!

I will only be able to salvage 6 of them for use which would give me 3 wide by 2 long drag harrows (pardon my termionology). I will definetly have to make up a 3PT hitch assembly like the one you have. That would definetly make it easier to move around, aside from dragging it to and fro. :)

definelty a nice find....
