Chipper Chipper / Tractor Purchase Help

I am going to throw another wrinkle in and hope no one will throw any stones. I have a 25 HP Jinma 284 that I paid under 7k with front end loader and added a Jinma chipper for another $1100. It handles stuff up to 6" and unless it is real green, it never slows it down.

I know a lot of people do not like Chinese stuff, but a country that feeds over a billion and does not have repair shops on every corner seems to build pretty tough machines. They are pretty basic, but they are tractors afterall.

I am trying to narrow down my search and my wife thinks I am nuts trying to bring home a L 5740 and 9" hydraulic chipper on 1.5 acres- so now I am back to looking at the B3030 and a smaller chipper the Bearcat 73554.

This is a great unit but I am again stuck with picking up items over 5" and trashing the larger debri in garbage cans. Being we are in Miami I still have a concern over which tractor and chipper to go with. It makes more sense to me to go smaller because of the ability to manuever; but I do feel limited. Perhaps once I actually using the unit I wont see it that way.

The dealer is on me to order (they have both in stock) but I am holding out until I get my head together and figure out which unit is the best way to go...

Thank the Lord you married a smart woman. Even the B3030 is overkill for 1.5 acres but I don't want to get off topic.

Regarding the chipper: get the 70554 and either haul, bury or use as firewood anything bigger than 4-5 inches.

Or, rent a 9" or 12" self-contained commercial chipper (with hydraulic feed) when needed, and use a lawn/garden tractor for everything else...

Now, I'll duck while the stones start flying...

Agree. I often forget about the rental option as I work on an island where bringing rental equipment over is difficult and expensive. Many rental places have big chippers that would be lots faster than any CUT driven chipper and will also take much bigger logs.
