I recently saw a jackhammer type attachment hanging off of a small Teremite loader/backhoe. I was wondering if there is a make that will fit onto the end of a woods b750 BH. Any information appreciated.

I was looking thru www.easternfarmmachinery.com from another message and noticed they have a small hammer in the indurstrial section of their catalogue. You would need a set of hydraulic remotes to plug it in to, which I have never seen on a compact backhoe. Just my $.02

J long, the factor that will determined whether your backhoe can use a hammer is the amount of hydraulics your tractor produces. The bucket hydraulics can be used to run the hammer and you would need a quick attach system to remove the bucket and hook up a hammer.

MarkV-

I have a woods B750 bh on a NH TC35D compact tractor. I guess junctions for changing the bucket to hammer hydralic hoses could be installed??

J Long, Yes, I believe the hydraulics could be hooked up pretty easily with quick connects. A quick attach bucket system for your backhoe bucket and a compatible system for the hammer is what you would have to look into. The main thing is whether your tractors hydraulic pump puts out enough to meet the requirements of the hammer. The Kubota line of TLB’s show a hammer as an option on the L35 with 17.3 GPM hydraulic flow but not on the B21 with 8.5 GPM flow.

The main thing is can a compact take the beating that the hammer will put out. Hammers to be effective need weight which means you will be lifting your tractors up to put the hammer into concrete which shakes the crap out of the machine. I would definitly talk to your dealers before you do something like that or even woods would probally know as compacts are not built for industrial work. Who knows, they might take a small hammer but I would not want to put my tractor thru it.

Bobcat makes a Bobcat Breaker that fits on a skidsteer or backhoe arm. You're right about needing a lot of weight. There is a video download (don't waste bandwidth on the Lo-Res video, its unintelligible - the QT clip is the clearest) that shows the skidsteer raising the front wheels off the ground to get weight onto the breaker point. The video also says (in a "fine print" statement) that a lexan shield must be used to protect the operator.
