I would assume a pull behind would get me more width but what's the widest y'all would go? I use a 7 foot finish mower right now (when not getting someone to cut hay) on fairly flat fields.....I'm looking to cut (pun intended) my mowing time down......thanks Chris.
We pull a Rhino SE15-4 all the time with a JD2755 and clip pasture with a JD2355.

Thought I'd relate my experience from Friday. I'm a newbie with about 40 hours M6800 seat time, I've got to get that out of the way first.

I found a good deal on a HD 8' mower, that apparently weighs just over a ton. (2035lbs), Brought my M6800HDF, R4 tires (not filled), and attempted to pick it up and immediately found my front tires about a foot off the ground. It's an experience trying to drive with the front end in the air, trying to steer with the rear brakes.

Tried for a while to get it loaded up on a trailer, but I ended up not bringing it home with me.

It would pull it around just fine, and it had the strength to lift it, but I wish I had purchased a FEL or something to counter all that weight back there when you need to lift it.

Weight seems to be a large consideration with a 3pt lift style, to me.

I should probably start another thread and ask for advice. It may be the problem was just me and inexperience.

fwiw,
Brad

Ummm, that's why they make front weights
You gotta have some weight up front to counteract all that weight in back

Yeah, I'm feeling pretty stupid, but thought I'd post my experience in case it helped the original poster's question or any other M6800 owner. I thought the specs on the lift indicated I would be OK.

You are not clear what type of cut you want or what you are cutting. Depending on what you are cutting and the results you wants a disc mower used in hay might be an option for you.
