I just tried my HF Hitch and am very disappointed, overall finish and workmanship I was pleased with for a 69 dollar unit but it does not work with my GB72 Woods box blade. The lower hooks arnt wide enough to even fit into the slots where my pins are on the blade like 1/2" atleast:( The top bracket where the hook is doesnt work either but in the directions it does say you may have to use a "Adapter Bracket" which of course is not provided, lol. So maybe the old saying is true you get what you pay for, lol. So overall my quick hitch experience isnt all that good.

It did hook up to my tractor rather easily its just it wont hook up to my blades or rake??? So im not sure what im gonna do return it or "modify" it, haha.

Hello Tinman,, I too bought the HF Quick Hitch. I had the same problem, but after seeing another TBN'ers solution I followed suit. It involved cutting the hitch in half, and welding in a 3'' x 3'' piece into the middle. This allowed my pins to fit perfectly now. I understand that this was an issue with alot of other Q Hitches out there too. They were built to 26'' wide specs, but alot the implements simply were wider. With that said, I can tell you that I beat the @$%^*& of the hitch now, and it's as tough as the others. Just my '02 cents! Good Luck !!:D

That would be a good solution, its just to bad that a guy has to do that. I called the 800# to talk with them about it and the told me the 26" is the standard, I laughed and said I have 3 different name brand attatchments that none will work, so I guess Woods, KK and JD attachments are all wrong, lol.

LOL,,, Yep,, aint that the truth ? My KK brush Hog,,, and Farm Force BoxBlade are the same width , with regards to the pins,,,, so one would think that maybe it's the Hitch Manufacturer thats having a problem. OH, also,, some guys have had luck bending the hitch arms in too. Just another scenario for ya. Looking back, I can see where the Pats system would have been nice, Although I thought I'd take the cheaper route but I'm thinking I'll probably end up with it sooner or later!!:D

Here is a link to the ASAE Standards HERE. Any implement older than a few years will probably not fit without modification.

HF unit here. Did it fit all of my implements? No. Was it too narrow on some? Yes. Did the top hook fit? No. Am I disappointed in spending only $60 versus $200 on the others? heck no.

It is an easy fix. Bottle jack the bottom arms a little wider and modify the top. I added 2 pieces of flat bar on the top link and it works great.

The only implement that works with my HF QH is my Woods rotory cutter. None of my other implements work with it. The HF QH arms are actually too spread out. I've used mine twice. I'll take $50 for mine.:)

Mine is to narrow but when I get time Im gonna do a bottle jack adjustment as suggested. Again a very simply design of a hitch, with a little or alot of messing with will soon be a nice convenent tool, I hope:rolleyes:

I have a Harbor Freight quick hitch and have had no difficulty with my attachments other that the top link connection. The problem with attachments is they're not made to uniform dimensions, everyone's a little different. I did buy the optional top link connector from Harbor Freight. I plan to buy another to adapt to my loader arms.

Can you say "Horrible Freight":D
I prefer to say "Harbored Fart", but that's just me.....

(My wife once spoiled a check at Farm & Fleet, when she started to make it out to "Fart & Fleece".)

I just picked up an HF quick-hitch. I have to confess, I'm presently using that super-cheapo Made in China pair of quick-links you get via eBay. Thought I'd see if the HF unit is any better (KK 5' brush hog, KK carry-all). I measured the HF unit at 27" on the insides of the links; looking at that ASAE page linked above, it seems like it should be a go, and if it's not, I would think it's the implements that deviate from ASAE.

Lime, it looks like your top link is okay height-wise. What if you turned out the turnbuckle on the top link on the tractor, or used a longer top link turnbuckle?

Lime, I think you got it! The two pieces of flat bar at the top looks like it will work on my HF hitch too. All I have is the Bush Hog 48" rear mower now, but plan on getting a tiller and box blade. I will make sure they fit! My only problem has been the top hook part. Now to scrounge around and see if I can find two flat pieces of steel...
