I operate a TC33D New Holland tractor and have a 1acre pond to cut around the edges. I have been using my lawn tractor to cut but this does not get close enought to the edges. A sickle bar mower that attachages to the 3-point hitch would possibly work the best. Which one do I get and how big a blade? I appreciate your comments.

Gil from Gil-Did Pond.

For that job, I'd really suggest used, but depending on the slope it will likely need to be a belt drive (as opposed to pitman arm drive) since they allow more up down angle. I hay about 22 acres with a unit I bought new from Carter & Carter Machinery -- it's a GS (Gribaldi & Salvia, made in Italy) Superior 394. I've been very pleased with it overall. It will mow from +90 degress to -60 degrees. It makes a 7' cut and will operate on either my little Allis or the big Mahindra.
