    Default 3pt Hitch Options L35

Excuse the crosspost in the kubota purchasing forum. I'll try to remove it.

I am buying a used L35 which is missing its 3 point hitch assembly alltogether. I have located OEM and aftermarket versions of these parts. In either case the costs are pretty high.

I also plan to install a Top and Tilt system on the L35. In my mind, I belive that I can omit the adjustable top link and the adjustable arm. These 2 parts will save me a few hundred dollars. I think that these 2 parts will be replaced by hydraulic cylindars.

Is there any reason for me to purchase all of the hitch assembly including these 2 parts? Emergency backups? Future resale? Other reasons?

    Thanks.

Resale or backup i guess.. but mostly no.. no reason to buy them and not use them.

Alternatoely.. how about looking in a junk/salvage yard for the parts.. several hundred $ is alot of money for lower lift arms, and side links and a top link. ( I'm assuming you have upper lift arms already.. ) or do you?

I do not have any of the assembly whatsoever. The L35/L39 does get sold with it, but what happens if it goes into rental (like this one) is that the tractor gets used in its configuration as front loader/backhoe. Folks over at the kubota Purchase forum tell me is that the 3pt hitch parts normally get 'lost' over time. Some rental yard has them stuffed away in the corner. And if I could find that corner, I'd be willing to pay fairly good money for them.

I'm still looking for junk/salvage yard. OEM yes. Aftermarket yes. No salvage as yet.

Aftermarket is quite a bit less expensive than Kubota original - but I'm still thinking about that scenario. Not sure it's a good idea, especially considering my intention to add Top and Tilt. (Maybe I'm just paranoid a bit, this being my first tractor.)

Yes - one of my OEM/new quotes was over $1k for all the parts. Not including shipping which would toss in another $100 or so.

    Thanks for your input.

I can understand your position. My 7710 Ford was purchased used with a boom mower on it and the 3pt stuff was removed when they installed the boom mower. Fast forward 20 years and the 3pt stuff is gone, probably thrown out with the baby's bathwater. The company that owned it is famous for getting rid of anything that isn't used in a week.
Last price for used was $750 plus shipping so I haven't bought them. When I do, the boom mower along with the duals will probably come off the tractor for good and be sold. Might even sell the JD2555 as I really don't need two tractors and the Ford was bought because of it front wheel drive.
I have threatened to go looking for a 7710 with a tape measure and build the durn stuff myself. Thanks for mentioning using TnT instead of the factory parts, as I hadn't thought about going that way.

Send me PM if you want a couple of referrals to aftermarkets. After doing this for almost a week, I've collected a solid inventory of sources and prices. One source offers parts which are engineered for a 65hp tractor (L35 is 35hp) - I LOVE over-engineering!

TnT will take the place of your toplink, and your adjustable side bar. In my case, that knocks off a couple hundred bucks from the replacement parts.

1k$.. my goodness.. I don't know how those people sleep at night.

lets see.. for a regular 3pt setup normally you need :

    lower lift arms (2)
    upper lift arms (2)
    toplink (1)
    rigid lift link arm (1)
    adjustable lift link arm (1)

I cant see tha being more than 500$ all painted up oem color and wrapped with a nice bow, not including shipping to your address for that size of tractor.

    Soundguy,
Now you know why I haven't bought mine, or at least one of the reasons. I have the upper lift arms, and the adjustable top link arm, so mine should be even cheaper. Mine isn't an emergency, as I do have a tractor with a 3pt that handles most of my needs, as long as I don't get it stuck.

Thanks for the link Slobuds, but my tractor is pushing 90 horses, so it needs a little bit more than that. Might be why the parts are so expensive for it.

Martin in your search for an after market supplier have any of them offered parts listed for an L35 or are they all generic? I ask because on my L39 and B21 the arms are configured in a way that I don’t believe a generic part would work.

Tractor Supply has a number of different sizes of top links that are in the $25 range. I actually prefer them over the ones kubota uses.

How about putting a “Wanted” ad on e-bay for the set up. Maybe some rental yard has a pair collecting dust in a corner.
