I spent quite a bit of time in front of my King Kutter landscape rake this weekend. I'm developing a certain affinity for this lowly implement, it really does a great job of smoothing the ground. Today I was going over the areas of our property that were rutted from all the construction traffic in the mud a few weeks ago. Soil conditions were just right for raking and I got most of it back to a semi-decent looking plot of land.

I got to thinking though, what the heck is a York rake, or a Harley rake? Are these just name brands of the same thing I have, or are these different implements with different purposes? Inquiring mind wants to know /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Go to http://www.glenmac.com/ and check them out. I have rented a power rake a couple of times and really like how they work.

I check around before I purchase my York rake, and at the time it was about $130.oo per foot.
They do cost more and I feel there better built plus some models you can add on...piston,boots,blade.etc..

Thanks for the link Kevin. I wonder if there is any connection between Glenmac.com and our very own Glennmac /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

A "York" rake is a Brand of landscape rake manufactured by the York Modern Company of New York. www.yorkmodern.com. A "Harley" rake is a Brand of powered box rake manufactured by the Glenmac Company. These specific brand names are often used by people when referring to generic landscape or power box rakes in the same sense that some refer to tissue as "Kleenex."
