I am looking for a subsoiler or combo for a b7100 4x4. I don't want to buy one and get it home and not have it fit or not raise high enough. Does any one know which brand would fit a b7100 without alot of problems?

Welcome to TBN!!

Measure your tractor lower links at lowest and highest points of travel and then take that information to the store with you. Measure the distance from the pins down and that will tell you how far it will go down when you lower it completely(from the lower links) and subtract the distance from the pins to the tip from the implement from the highest point of the lift arms and that will answer your question. Make sure you have just a little leeway on the completely raised part, as you might need to travel over some bumps and things that you don't want scrapped up with the tip.

I have a New Holland TC18 with a KingKutter XB subsoiler and middle buster combo. I think the two tractors are similar in size. I got it at Tractor Supply, for $118. You can see pictures of the middle buster in my photo gallery below.

thank you for the reply's. I purchased a KK middlebuster and bought a few different tips thinking I could also use as a sub soiler ( TS and farm and fleet didn't have the combo or the subsoiler). I put it on the tractor and lowered lift arms, the middle buster went into ground very slowly as i pulled forward to about 4-6 inches. I thought my 3 pt. would have some down pressure on attatchments. I know I had at least 6 inches of travel left on lift arm. my question is, do I need weight on top of attatchment to force it into the ground. I then put on the single shank and again it just stopped when it hit the ground. I also adjusted the top link so the point wasperpendicular to the ground, it helped a little but not much.

Very few tractors have power down on the lift arms. The correct angle is what gives you the down force, so experiment with different angles.

sandman's right - most (compact) tractors do not have down force on the 3PH. Yours certainly does not.

Angle the blade so that the point is forward of the 3PH arms (lengthen your top link). The more angle you give it the more it will "bite" and dig down.

I don't know what your plans for it are, but I know that when I bought mine I was hoping to dig trenches with it. Nope. I did see a thread on here years ago where someone rigged one up so that it would lay flexible pipe, which was pretty cool. What these are good for, mostly, is...well, busting up soil :). It won't leave a plowed area - it'll leave chunks.

I have a King Kutter XB subsoiler/middle buster combo that fits OK on my Kubota B7510HST (21 hp engine), which is about the same size as your B7100.

The chisel shape on the subsoiler produces a lot of drag that limits the depth to about 6" in damp soil. During the summer months the soil is hard as a brick and that limits the subsoiler to a few inches depth.

I bought a $6 wide wing bedding sweep from Agri-Supply (Part #28382). It's shaped like an arrowhead and fits on the KK frame OK. I can get that sweep a few inches deeper into the soil than with the chisel tip that comes with the subsoiler.

I have the B7510HST as well. I bought the KK middle buster and a chisel point. With the chisel point, I can get down to about 12" which was all I needed for a trench to plant a bunch of tree seedlings. Like others have said, you have to adjust the angle via the top link to get a good bite, then it should sink.
