I'm thinking about getting one of these and I would like your input. I have some trails to cut and ditches to refinish and clean out. The tilt and tach for the loader seems like a reasonable way to accomplish these tasks. I really appreciate any feedback you may have on these.

Thanks!

A tractor would be more stable in the woods than a skidloader. I would be very afraid to operate a skidloader in areas I presently go trail grooming with my CUT. Can the Tilt Tach be used on a tractor? Is there a tractor version? I am interested 'cause lately I have wanted to build one.

What is a tilt tach? I assume some kind of rollover prevention device?

A tilt tach is where your backing plate attachment will tilt like in grading a road with a crown

I think it depends on what you mean by ditches. If you can drive your tractor in the ditches, and need to modify the angle, then I think it would work. However, for cleaning out, a regular bucket (since the tractor will already be at the current angle of the ditch) would work nearly as well.

If you can't drive in the ditches, you won't be able to close enough to clean them out without a hoe. It's hard to say - only you can see the ground you're working with...

It will add alot of weight to the front and require a third function set of hydraulics. If you have the hydraulics the weight won't be an issue till you go to lift a bucket full of dirt but I am thinking for the price of what one would cost you could get a heavy duty rear blade that tilts angles and swings for alot less.

I have a tilt tach on my bobcat skid steer. I still prefer the box blade with TNT for making ditches/slopes. I can tilt the box blade while moving. The tilt tach will only move if the pressure is off the bucket. More difficult to adjust and tilt on the go - stop, then tilt, push, stop, then tilt, etc.
Tilt tach is pricely, bobcat about $2200. I bought mine used and was used one time for $700.
